The first hiccup seemed harmless, but to wait for the last one the man was forced to wait for 1990: his is a world record
Help me! Kill me! These are the words screamed in desperation by the man forced to live with the hiccup for 45 years that appeared in an episode of the Simpsons. Matt Groening was far too "tender", there is a person in flesh and blood who experienced a worse nightmare. Charles Osborne entered the Guinness Book of Records for an absurd reason and which he would have gladly avoided.
The hiccup of this man lasted 68 years, practically his whole life, even if it did not prevent him from leading an almost normal existence. How did he survive all these involuntary contractions? Its history is truly incredible. Osborne was born in 1894 in Anthon, in the US state of Iowa. On a day like many of 1922 he simply had to grab a pig to kill it, but it was the first of a long series of sobs. As often happens, even the man thought that it would take a few minutes to get everything back as before
