One of the most unusual beaches in the world is located on the island of Fuerteventura and it's a sight!
Many know the island of Fuerteventura, the second largest in the Canaries, but few know that this island is home to one of the world's largest beaches, a beach that seems to be made of popcorn!
Its name is Playa de Palomitas de Maíz and it is a beach that seems to be covered in millions of white and puffy popcorn. In reality, these strange formations are coral stones that have been shaped by winds, tides and currents.
To reach this beach it is necessary to take a dirt road north west of Corralejo. This is not one of the main attractions of Fuerteventura (after all, stone popcorn, they are not exactly the most comfortable place to relax), however the show is guaranteed.
This beach has always been this way but it is gaining popularity only in recent years, thanks to social networks (especially Instagram), where it has been indirectly advertised through photos and hashtags.
