Shannen Doherty shared a touching reminder about living to the fullest “every day” after revealing she has stage 4 cancer — and received messages of support from other stars including Sarah Michelle Gellar.
The 48-year-old “Beverly Hills, 90210” star on Tuesday posted a sweet cartoon on Instagram showing “Peanuts” characters Charlie Brown and Snoopy having a deep conversation.
“We only live once, Snoopy,” Charlie Brown says, to which his pet beagle replies, “Wrong! We only die once. We live every day!”
Doherty revealed Tuesday that she has been quietly battling stage 4 cancer, three years after first kicking breast cancer into remission.
“I don’t think that I’ve processed it,” she told “Good Morning America.” “It’s a bitter pill to swallow in a lot of ways. I definitely have days where I say, ‘Why me?’”
Doherty’s famous friends rallied around her in the comments of her Instagram account, sharing messages of support.
Responding to the Charlie Brown cartoon, actress Gellar wrote, “Beautifully said, my beautiful friend.”
“Love you!!!” wrote best friend model Anne Marie Kortright.
