In a scene right out of a movie, WWE twins, Nikki and Brie Bella, are both pregnant at the same time – with a due date just a week and a half apart.
"Wait, twins being pregnant at the same time?” Brie told People magazine in an interview published Wednesday. "People are going to think that’s a joke. We both are shocked. People are going to think we planned it, but you can’t really plan pregnancy!"
Nikki said the pregnancy came as a total surprise for her.
"It took even me a good week to come to terms with like, ‘Oh my gosh, I’m pregnant.’ I’m not ready for it," she said.
Brie and her husband professional wrestler Daniel Bryan were trying to conceive for about eight months with no results. The couple shares one daughter, 2-year-old Birdie, and after not being able to get pregnant, Brie said they stopped trying for more.
"When we were in France meeting Artem’s (Nikki's fiancé's) family, I felt a little off. I was irritated and uncomfortable in my body," she said. "When we got home, I took a test two days before Thanksgiving, and when I saw the positive sign, I was like, ‘Oh, (expletive)!"
Nikki said though she and her fiancé weren't trying to conceive, she just had a feeling she needed to take a pregnancy test. Initially, she assumed her twin's pregnancy vibes were rubbing off on her.
"I didn’t tell Artem at this point,” Nikki said. “I just want to do this by myself. When I came back in, and it said pregnant, I had to sit down for a second.”
Nikki, who describes herself as family-oriented, said she always dreamed of being a mom and couldn't imagine her life without experiencing childbirth and raising a child.
"Even though I feel really sick, like, can’t believe I’m going to be a mom soon,” Nikki said talking about her pregnancy symptoms. “I’m going to have this person to take care of for the rest of their life and help them do the right things and just show them the way of the world. That’s amazing!"
The "Total Bellas" stars' twin vibes are so strong they go through the same pregnancy symptoms too.
"We have definitely felt better in our lives,” Brie said. “It’s actually crazy because we both have the same symptoms. So we’ve been super nauseous."
The twins announced their retirement from the WWE last year, after Nikki learned she had a brain cyst.
Stepping away from wrestling hasn't slowed them down one bit.The Bella Twins continued to stay in the public eye as a part of USA Today's Wine and Food Experience last year where fans had the opportunity to "Wine Down" with the twins and enjoy wine from their personal label, Belle Radici.
