A Miami Beach police officer has been placed on leave after was seen in uniform escorting a handcuffed Playboy cover model and two half-naked pals for a social media stunt, according to a report.
Officer William Beeker is under investigation after he made a cameo Monday in Playboy model Francia James’ Instagram video filmed outside the department’s headquarters, the Miami Herald reported.
In the viral footage, Beeker was seen marching a scantily clad James and two fellow models, Julianne Kissinger and Maddy Belle, to the front door of the police station in a staged arrest.
“Do you like bad girls or good girls? Who’s gonna bail us out?” James wrote on the video of the trio
In a second video posted to her Instagram story, the models thank “Officer Bill” as he sits on an ATV outside the headquarters.
“Thank you, Officer Bill, for letting us go,” the women coo to him.
Beeker then can be heard saying, “No problem. Enjoy the community I like to protect and serve. Have a good day, ladies.”
James told The Post that there had been no planned arrangement to include the officer in the stunt.
“When the officer pulled up, I said ‘can u [sic] be in my skit’ so we filmed one more time with him walking behind us,” she wrote in an email. “He was very nice and none of us thought anyone was doing anything wrong.”
The officer is a veteran of the force and previously worked for the New York Police Department, news station WSVN reported.
Authorities said they became aware of the possible misconduct the same day the videos were posted.
“Chief Richard Clements immediately launched an Internal Affairs investigation and placed Officer William Beeker in an administrative capacity while the investigation takes its course,” a Miami Beach police spokesperson told the Miami Herald.
But James defended the officer, saying the video was “harmless.”
“I think it’s a shame he was put on any sort of leave,” the model told The Post.
