The "Clueless" actress was taken into custody Sunday by the Pasco Sheriff's Office and charged with domestic battery, police confirmed to NBC News and Tampa Bay ABC station WFTS.
She reportedly got into a verbal argument with an unnamed man before pushing and slapping him in the face, police told the outlets.
Dash, 52, was then taken to a jail near Tampa without further incident, the outlets report.
USA TODAY has reached out to the Pasco Sheriff's Office and representatives for Dash for comment.
The actress has worked as a conservative political commentator in recent years.
She announced she was no longer running for Congress in California a little more than a month after she filed paperwork to create a campaign committee back in 2018.
"At this point, I believe that the overall bitterness surrounding our political process, participating in the rigors of campaigning, and holding elected office would be detrimental to the health and wellbeing of my family," she said in a statement posted on Twitter.
