A BRITISH Instagram influencer says she was held for 24 hours in a cockroach-infested Thai jail after pages were found missing from her passport.
Lacey Montgomery-Henderson, 28, was refused entry into the country after Bangkok airport officials rejected the document, which she amended after spilling liquid on it years before.
The model, from Glasgow, had travelled to the country to work alongside other bloggers and models for 10 days.
But she says she was locked up in a Bangkok police cell that was "overrun with cockroaches".
The 28-year-old, who has 300,000 Instagram followers, said the prison cell also “stank”.
She added that the cell housed six bunk beds and one of her fellow inmates was “in hysterics” after spending two days locked up.
“I feel responsible to make sure no one else ends up in a situation like that,” she said in an Instagram post.
“I wouldn't wish it on anyone, they treat you like animals and it's an experience I won't forget quickly.”
When she arrived as passport control, she says she was told: “Can't accept your passport, can't accept your passport.”
Lacey says she was then taken up in a lift and was then spoken to by other officials who told her the passport was unacceptable, and one woman who repeatedly told her to “shut up and sit back down”.
She was released at 10pm last night and escorted by British Airways staff onto a flight back to the UK, which she said “restored her faith in humanity”.
A source told the MailOnline: "Lacey was treated like a prisoner in a locked room with cockroaches, she was humbled by the 1000s of messages mostly from strangers and has been nonstop replying to keep her going."
This morning she posted on her Instagram page showing her family meeting her at Heathrow Airport with balloons to celebrate her freedom.
