Passengers aboard a flight of Azman Air, a Nigerian airline, watched from the windows of a man who jumped on one of the wings of the departing aircraft.
It happened at the Murtala Muhammed airport in Lagos, Nigeria: while the aircraft had already started moving to get on the runway, the man suddenly came running to jump on the wing of the plane.
The pilot managed to stop and shut down the engine: the airport security officers arrested the man and held him for investigations. The reasons for the crazy gesture that lasted around half an hour and took place last Friday are unknown.
The passenger who recorded the scene with his mobile phone said that the man was constantly trying to get on one of the aircraft's engines: "The passengers panicked fearing that he might be a terrorist. Also because the man held a bag in one hand ”said the passenger.
A spokesman for the Federal Authority of Airports in Nigeria (Faan), in a short message to the press said that the man was captured by security. The spokesman did not release information on his identity and above all on his mental state.
After being let off to allow the technicians to check the condition of the plane, the passengers got on board and finally left.
