Svetlana Laurel, 52, of the state of Washington was arrested for shooting and killing her fourteen-year-old daughter while the teenager was desperately trying to call 911 during a fight. Natalie Gulizia had requested the intervention of the police, Tuesday evening, after her mother and father had begun to fight furiously downstairs. But while he was on the phone with the emergency services, his mother shot her in the head in a moment of madness. According to the reconstructions, the couple is divorced and Laureal had lost custody of her two children.
To bring her into the house, on the evening of last December 18th, it would be her 12-year-old son. When her ex-husband and Natalie returned home, "Svetlana was holding a Taser and using it" on the man, explained David Leibman from the Renton Police Department. "You've ruined me, I'm desperate," she would have shouted at her husband, according to sources from the broadcaster KIRO. The 14-year-old daughter ran to her upstairs room and called the police for help. "When the mother found out she was calling 911, she shot them," Leibman confirmed. The 911 operator claimed to have heard a woman say, "You called 911!" and then the same voice that threatened to "shoot your head". Following a loud explosion, then the screams, according to the police report.
The 12-year-old son would then run into his sister's room "and seeing that the victim's head was covered in blood," according to court papers. A few moments later, Natalia's father arrived, "he slammed Svetlana against the wall, and grabbed the gun." Laurel was initially accused of second-degree murder, but the accusation is likely to be turned into murder first degree.
