Manila, the capital of the Philippines, has been named the city with the worst traffic and the one with the most congested traffic: clearly from these aspects derives a very low quality of the air that is breathed and a bad livability. However, the Manila government has stated that it wants to resolve the issue. Such as? Building another city that will eventually become the capital of the Philippines.
The construction of New Clark will require 14 billion dollars and about 30 years of work: the city will have landing platforms for drones (serving the police, hospitals and post offices), driverless cars and all the technologies that will allow a reduction in consumption of water and energy. There will also be huge sports complexes and green spaces.
New Clark will rise about 120 km away from Manila and will stretch for 100 square kilometers, up to the size of Manhattan. It will be the residence for 2 million people.
The construction company, the BCDA Group, is confident in starting the construction in 2022. Although it is necessary some time before this ambitious project is completed, it is still curious how the Philippines, a country with difficulties on several fronts, is moving towards a greener and environmentally friendly future, for the benefit of the local population, but also that of the entire world.
