In China, a giant panda-shaped photovoltaic power plant was created ... designed by a 15-year-old girl
Who could build such a thing if not Panda Green Energy Group, a leading multinational company in the development of renewable energy? Let's talk about a photovoltaic plant of over one hundred hectares that reproduces the design of two smiling pandas!
The plant was built in 2017 and, as well as pretty, it is fully functional, but the idea did not come to the board of directors of the colossus of eco-sustainable. But to a girl of fifteen.
Her name is Ada Li Yan-tung, she is originally from Honk Hong but lives in Portland, Oregon. When in 2015 he proposed his idea to a United Nations conference dedicated to involving the new generations in the climate debate, he was only 15 years old! The intention of the teenager was to bring the youngest to the problems of the planet and chose the panda because: "I really love these animals, so I thought: why not build it in the shape of Panda? They are both the symbol of China, is a sign of peace".
When his idea was taken seriously by the Panda Green Energy Group and realized, he could not believe his eyes: "I did not think it would be that great!" Li said to a Chinese newspaper "I did not think I could really do something ... yes, maybe raise people around me, but not on this scale!"
And it does not end here, because the power plant built in 2017 near Datong is just the beginning. In fact, the real project of the Panda Green Energy Group is to build another 99 for the whole country and beyond, along the so-called New Silk Road. The total cost of the operation exceeds 3 billion dollars and the company's high plans are already collecting investors.
The curious initiative of the company has given the inspiration to an artist to create this nice aerial photo, in which the nice panda 'solar' stands out: clearly it is a rendering, but the real aspect of the plant is not really much different!
